Why is my gaming performance lagging despite having a solid PC build?

I've got a decent gaming setup but I'm experiencing some annoying performance issues like significant frame drops and lag spikes with games such as Battlefield 6, Rematch, and Cyberpunk 2077. Here are my specs:

- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 5700G (I think I enabled PBO)
- **GPU:** Zotac RTX 4070
- **Motherboard:** Asus PRIME B550 Plus AC-HES
- **RAM:** Corsair 2x16GB 3600MHz DDR4 (DOCP enabled)
- **Storage:** Multiple SSDs, with Windows 11 on a WD Blue SN570 500GB SSD

While monitoring performance on Steam, nothing seems to indicate a bottleneck. However, Userbenchmark mentions my CPU's clock speed (4.3GHz) as 'extremely low,' and I'm unsure how to address that. My CPU and GPU temperatures are in the mid 60s to 70s. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Don't overlook the cache on your CPU. The 5700G has less cache compared to other Ryzen models, which can potentially slow down performance in certain games. For a solid upgrade, look into something like the Ryzen 5800X or even the 5800X3D. However, it might make more financial sense to consider moving to an AM5 platform if you're investing a lot.

Any suggestions on what settings I should optimize for better performance without upgrading right now?

Honestly, I wouldn't rely too much on Userbenchmark for performance evaluation. It can be pretty misleading. It's better at reporting specs than assessing actual performance. You mentioned temperatures are fine, so you might want to ensure your BIOS settings are good. It could be worth trying to reset your BIOS to default, and playing with DOCP turned off for a bit just to see if your performance improves. Also, reinstalling your Nvidia drivers can help clear up any potential conflicts.

I posted my Userbenchmark results here: [link]. Should I be worried about anything?

The Ryzen 5700G isn't the best CPU out there—it's actually closer in performance to older models like the 3600 rather than newer Ryzen 5000 chips. If you're experiencing frame drops, it might be due to CPU limitations. You should check your GPU utilization when gaming, as it can help diagnose if you're hitting a CPU bottleneck. Limiting your frame rate might help stabilize performance too!

What CPU do you recommend that would be better but still fit my AM4 socket?
