Why is my GTA performance so low since I switched RAM slots?

I used to get around 100-115 FPS in GTA while playing in an invite-only session, but after switching my RAM sticks to different slots because one of them broke, my performance dropped drastically. Now I'm only getting 60-70 FPS. I'm unsure if the RAM switch caused this, but my GTA runs at around 50-65% GPU and 45-52% CPU usage. I have 32GB of DDR4 RAM, but it shows only 18.6GB being used out of 33.8GB while gaming. Everything is safe overclocked, and my drivers are up to date. What could be wrong or is there a fix for this?

Could it be that you accidentally unplugged the monitor and plugged it into the motherboard by mistake? Double-check your HDMI or Displayport connection. It's a common error, and I've seen it happen even to experienced users, so it’s worth a quick look!

I haven’t unplugged my monitor since I got this PC a year ago, so I don't think that’s the issue.

Did you break a RAM slot when changing them? What’s your motherboard model and which slots are you using now? Sometimes just not having them in the right slots can impact performance. Also, check your BIOS settings in case they reset when you changed the RAM, especially if you were overclocking. Keep an eye on CPU frequency and temperatures while playing to rule out thermal throttling.

I broke RAM slot B2 unfortunately. My motherboard is ASUSTeK G10CE, and I'm using Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB; they’re in slots A1 and B1 now.

Switching RAM slots can really mess with performance. If your system normally runs in dual channel mode and now runs in single channel because of the switch, that could be the issue. Also, keep in mind that CPU load numbers can be misleading. If a single core is maxed out, it can affect your performance without showing up as a high overall CPU usage.

I have a stick in A1 and B1, my motherboard supports dual channel in that configuration.
