Why is My Laptop Having High GPU Usage but Low FPS in Games?

I've been facing a weird issue with my laptop lately. My GPU temperature is pretty low, but the usage is really high, and I'm experiencing unstable FPS while gaming. Just today, I was playing V Rising smoothly, but now my frame rates are dropping to around 16 FPS. My laptop specs are a 12th Gen Intel i7 processor and an Nvidia RTX 2050. Any insights on what might be causing this?

Your GPU temp seems fine at 53°C, and high usage at 97% means it's being utilized properly. But if your FPS is dropping, it could be due to the CPU being underused at 17%. It might also be worth checking if there are any background processes hogging resources. Did you try closing other apps while playing?

Yeah, I usually close other apps before gaming. Just weird how it dropped so suddenly.

That is strange! If the problem persists, you might want to look into updating your drivers or optimizing settings.

It sounds like your GPU is working hard, but it might not be enough for the game at the settings you're using. Have you checked what settings you're running on V Rising? Sometimes, even a low-temperature GPU can struggle with higher graphics settings. What game settings are you using?
