Why is my monitor flickering on Linux but working fine on Windows?

I recently re-plugged my HDMI cable and now I'm experiencing a flickering issue with my monitor. It goes from showing the screen for a moment to black for about three seconds, and then it repeats this cycle. I'm using CachyOS with Hyprland on an Acer VG420Y monitor connected to my GPU via an HDMI cable. Interestingly, the monitor works perfectly fine when I boot into Windows 11. This flickering issue also occurs on the login screen of CachyOS, though it seems to happen less frequently when there's less activity on the screen, like with a terminal or minimal colors. I've checked and reseated the cables, and both are new and defect-free.

It sounds like you might need to adjust your display settings. First, make sure you have the correct video drivers for your setup. After that, try adjusting the resolution and refresh rate to see if it helps fix the flickering issue.

I tried running at 60Hz and even in safe mode, but the flickering remains. Plus, I’ve confirmed that the GPU driver is properly loaded, so it’s frustrating!
