I just moved my PC from my dorm to home for winter break, and now it's acting up—my fans are stuck running at max speed and the system is really laggy. I've dealt with this kind of issue before, usually related to the CPU, but that doesn't seem to be the case this time. I've already removed and reinstalled both the GPU and CPU several times without any improvement. One strange thing I noticed is that while most of the fans are running at full speed, the GPU fans turn off once I log into the computer. Could this indicate a problem with the GPU or something else?

Have you checked the temperatures for both your CPU and GPU? It can give a clue about what's wrong. Sometimes, overheating or faulty sensors might cause the fans to go wild. If your GPU is showing 28°C at 0% usage, it might not be broken but could be incorrectly seated. How about checking that? It’s worth looking into!

I can't get the CPU temp, but if it helps, the GPU is at 28°C with no activity. Does that suggest a seating issue for the GPU?
