I'm staying in an extended stay hotel that recently upgraded their internet service to offer faster speeds for a fee. The basic plan used to average around 30mbps, but now it's only around 5mbps. I decided to pay for the premium internet, but I'm only getting the basic speeds despite everyone else in the building having no trouble with the premium service. I've called tech support five times and they always say there's an issue in my area and promise to escalate it, but nothing changes. Is there something that could be wrong on my side? Has anyone experienced this issue before?

Just to cover the bases, are you running a VPN? That can sometimes cause connectivity issues, but it seems you're able to connect, just with slow speeds. I had a similar problem at another hotel, but at least you can connect, so that’s a good sign. Hope it gets sorted out and you can enjoy those fast speeds!
I've faced similar issues before, and it wasn't on my end. Have you tried connecting with a different device? Sometimes the problem lies with device settings and not the internet itself. It could be worth testing to see if that changes anything.
It sounds like your account might not be properly set up for the premium service. You should check if your device is registered with the ISP. If you can access the ISP portal, make sure your device's MAC address is included. If it’s missing, you’ll need to ask the tech support to reset and reprovision your account.
