I recently got a new router, but ever since I set it up two weeks ago, my laptop can't find the network, even though all my other devices can connect just fine. I called my internet provider, but they said they'd check with another router sometime soon, and I haven't heard back. My laptop is a Dell Latitude E5440—what's going on here?

Double-check your laptop’s keyboard to see if you've accidentally pressed the Wi-Fi toggle or put it in airplane mode. Sometimes it's as simple as that!
Check if you can see other Wi-Fi networks in the area. If you can see them, it's possible your new router has disabled support for older Wi-Fi protocols that your laptop might need. Since the Dell Latitude E5440 is older, it might only handle Wi-Fi 5 (AC). You should log into your router settings and look for options to enable legacy Wi-Fi modes.
It's also possible that the 2.4GHz band on your new router is turned off. Many new routers prioritize the 5GHz band, which might not be supported by your laptop. Go into the router settings and see if you can enable the 2.4GHz band.
