Why won’t my PC boot after replacing the CPU?

I recently swapped out my old CPU for a Ryzen 7 5700 X3D in my PC, but now it's not booting up properly. The fans and motherboard light activate, but nothing else happens. When I reinstall my old CPU, everything works perfectly. I've updated the BIOS on my MSI B450i Gaming Plus AC twice using the latest version from the manufacturer's site and even cleared the CMOS, but I'm still having issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Your new CPU should be supported with the latest Beta BIOS (7A40vAH7 for your motherboard). If you're sure you've updated to that version and it's still not working, it could be a bug with the beta BIOS or possibly a faulty CPU.

I installed that BIOS version. The CPU post light is on, and I'm starting to think it might just be a bad CPU.

Are you just not booting into the OS, or does it fail to show the BIOS screen? Also, try disconnecting your drives and see if that helps.

If you've updated your BIOS and it's still failing to boot, there might be a problem with the CPU itself. You should check what the PC speaker or post LED indicates for more clues.

I noticed the CPU post LED was on, which has me worried.
