Will I Be Charged for Egress Traffic from Azure through a Palo Alto Firewall?

I'm setting up a Palo Alto Firewall in Azure for our offices to connect directly to Azure for resource access. All web browsing will also go through this firewall, and I plan to direct all VPN users to route their traffic through it to the internet. My question is, will I be billed for the egress traffic from the users going out to the internet through the Azure Palo Alto Firewall?

Absolutely, you’ll be billed for outgoing traffic. To figure out how much you’re spending, you’d need to look at the overall browsing behavior and the amount of data being sent. It seems like you might be within the 10 TB range, so using the estimated rate can give you a ballpark figure.

Yes, you will be billed for that egress traffic. The exact cost can vary based on user activity, but in general, expect around $0.087 per GB if you’re under 10 TB/month. However, if you’re using service endpoints, the routing and pricing might differ, especially for high-bandwidth items like storage accounts. Just keep that price in mind as a rough worst-case scenario!

Got it. But will I see the egress costs reflected on the Public IP of the NIC? Or is it only linked to the appliance pricing?
