I hope this isn't too silly of a question, but I really need some reassurance. I recently clicked on a website that supposedly lets you download Spotify tracks as MP3s. I didn't download anything, just interacted with the search bar, and then I got this alarming pop-up claiming I was at risk and that ignoring it could lead to hacking. I knew it was a scare tactic, so I didn't click anything, left the site, and cleared my browsing history. I ran both a McAfee and a Google Play Protect scan, and everything appeared to be fine. However, the pop-up did identify the type of phone I was using. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'm still feeling anxious about potential malware. I'm looking for some advice and assurance that my device is safe, especially since nothing seems out of the ordinary and the scans came back clean. Could anyone help a tech novice out?

When you visit websites, they receive some basic information about your device, like the type, time zone, and browser details. That pop-up was likely just using your device info to scare you into clicking. It’s good you didn’t interact with it. Just steer clear of that site in the future; it sounds iffy anyway!
You're likely fine, but it's wise to be cautious about sites that use those types of pop-ups. I’d suggest you avoid that kind of site moving forward. An effective adblocker like uBlock Origin could save you from these situations. It’s a great safeguard for your browser!
You're probably in the clear! While I can't guarantee anything, I've been in tech for years, and I'd say no need to panic. If you’re really concerned, you could back up your data and even reset your phone. It’s easier than you might think!
Totally understand the worry! I wouldn’t use that site again either. It’s not worth the risk. If you’re considering a VPN, now's a great time. Just make sure you stay safe out there!

Thanks for the reassurance! That makes sense and helps me feel a lot better.
