Worried About My Roblox Installer Being Infected – What Should I Do?

I'm not super tech-savvy and recently checked my Roblox installer file using VirusTotal. I came across a bunch of flagged files under 'execution parents' and 'PE resource parents,' with each one having at least 50 detections including suspicious stuff like RATs and worms. This really freaked me out! Are these false positives? Could my files actually be infected? What steps should I take? Appreciate any help!

As long as you downloaded the installer directly from the official Roblox site, it's likely safe. Those flagged files are usually just executables needed for the installer to work. If you're worried, you can just delete those files and re-download the installer to be sure. They won’t run on their own, so if they are malicious, they haven't done anything yet.

Honestly, paid antivirus programs can sometimes be a scam—they tend to flag unregistered executables with scary names to scare you into thinking they're doing their job. Trust your instincts and check the source of your downloads before getting too worried.

If you got the installer from the official site, you should be good. Just double-check that the virus detections on VirusTotal are low or zero. Legitimate files often get flagged as false positives because antivirus software tend to misidentify them. If there are high detections, you might want to run a full system scan with Windows Defender or any other reliable antivirus.
