I'm looking for advice on what steps to take to get a totally messed up website back up and running. A volunteer web developer, who had worked well for us before, tried to make some updates and ended up creating a huge mess. They've since disappeared and are not responding. I can muddle through WordPress, but this situation is overwhelming since there's no backup and they were only working on the live site. As a small non-profit, I've got a lot of content that's crucial, and starting over is not an option. What's your game plan for fixing serious website issues?

If it's truly a wreck, sometimes the best option is to just rebuild it. If you can't do that, consider putting the site into 'maintenance mode'. This way, you can limit changes to the most essential stuff while figuring out your next steps.
That makes sense. Thanks for the advice!
