I'm looking for a speaker that can automatically adjust the volume based on the ambient noise levels in the room, similar to how my AirPods do. I have a problem with the HVAC intake right next to my TV, making it hard to enjoy shows without constantly changing the volume during the summer. Does anyone know of a solution or type of speaker that can help with this?

You know, I had a similar thought a while back. If you're up for a bit of a project, you could use a Python script with a microphone to control the volume. It's not the simplest setup, but it can be done for free. Just keep in mind that most speakers work the same way when it comes to producing sound, so you're mainly looking at how to control volume rather than a specific speaker type.
While I haven't seen a dedicated speaker that does this, you can technically set up a small computer that monitors ambient sound and adjusts your TV volume remotely. It might take some tinkering to get it all working right. Just a heads up, separating the TV audio from ambient noise could be a tricky part.
As for your question about AirPods, yes, the newer models do have a feature called "Personalized Volume" that adjusts based on surroundings. It's pretty neat! Not sure about TV speakers specifically doing that, though.
