Do I Need High-Speed RAM for Music Production?

I'm curious about the RAM requirements for music production. Specifically, do I need high-speed RAM when recording instruments like guitars, vocals, drums, and keyboards? Can a basic, budget-friendly RAM suffice, or should I really invest in something faster? Also, is 8 GB of RAM adequate, or would I be better off with more? Just to clarify, I'm focused solely on music production, not gaming.

You don't necessarily need high-speed RAM for music production. The key is how much RAM you have. For most modern software and workflows, I'd recommend at least 16 GB of RAM. It helps ensure smoother operation when you're tracking and mixing multiple instruments. Don't worry too much about overclocking your memory; just make sure you get enough of it!

Also, it helps to consider your CPU and motherboard when deciding on RAM. For instance, if you're using a Ryzen 5 5600GT with a B450 motherboard, that combo should be decent for music production. Just keep in mind that if you're working with larger sessions, having more than 8 GB will make things a lot easier.
