I recently messed up and shared my info, which a hacker then used to access my Microsoft account. I didn't realize what was happening until it was too late. I managed to track down the hacker, and he said the only way to retrieve my account is to pay him. I've since added two-step verification to my account, but I can't access my recovery code, my password has been changed, and he set a backup email that I don't recognize. The hacker claims he gave me the recovery code, but every time I try it, I get an error message saying, "There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again later." I really need help to regain access to my account, especially since it holds precious memories of my grandfather who passed away.

Honestly, it sounds like this might be a lost cause. Once someone has taken control like that, it's super tough to get everything back. I highly recommend moving on and creating a new account if you're unable to access the recovery options. Just remember, don’t pay anyone to get your account back; it's usually a scam!

I totally understand that, but the account has all my memories with my grandfather who passed away. It really means a lot to me.
