Is a 1000W PSU Enough for My 5090 Build?

I just managed to grab an MSI bundle that includes the 5090 Gaming Trio and MPG A1000GS PSU. While I know that this PSU is generally recommended, I'm still contemplating whether I should upgrade to a 1200W PSU for more peace of mind. I'm planning to pair this setup with a 9800x3d and mainly use it for gaming. Since the PSU came with the bundle, I'd probably get a bigger one if I could, but I wanted to see if anyone else thinks it's necessary or if I'm just overthinking it.

I got the same MSI bundle with the 5090 and A1000GS PSU, and I've had no issues at all. I switched from a Corsair HX1000 to use the direct 12vhpwr connection from the MSI PSU rather than using multiple PCIe connections from the Corsair. I'm running a pretty loaded setup with RGB fans, SSDs, HDDs, and a 9800x3d without any power issues. You should be fine! Enjoy that crazy card—it brought my 3DMark scores to a whole new level!

That's good to hear! I’m just a bit anxious since I’ve heard of problems with this card. How are the temps on your GPU when gaming?
