BIOS Screen Appears Too Late on MSI X370 Gaming Plus with Multiple Monitors

I'm having an issue where the BIOS and boot screen appear too late, causing me to miss my boot loader for changing operating systems. When I say too late, I mean the screen remains black, and I can't see anything until the loading is well underway. Sometimes, I can get into the BIOS by mashing the delete key, but I often have to restart my monitor just to see it.

I'm currently using the latest BIOS version. This problem seems to occur only when my DisplayPort is connected. A tech I spoke with mentioned that there might be latency issues with DisplayPort, but they didn't give me any specific solutions other than just unplugging it. However, I've noticed that the issue isn't just with DisplayPort; it happens whenever more than one monitor is plugged in. If I only connect one monitor, it stops happening. Does anyone know how to fix this?

It sounds like you've got a few things to troubleshoot. Many systems allow you to choose the primary display output in the BIOS settings; the terminology can vary. If you're using a dedicated GPU alongside the onboard graphics, not all setups play nicely together, and some can disable the onboard output altogether. My best advice is to check for a setting that lets you configure the primary display output. If you can't find anything, you'll need to test a few different setups with your monitors plugged in one at a time.

I've run into similar issues before! It can be a hassle with multiple monitors. Since you mentioned the issue focuses on having more than one monitor connected, perhaps I would suggest checking your graphics drivers and ensuring they're all up to date. Sometimes, even small driver mismatches can cause display issues during the boot process. If adjustments in BIOS don't help, try switching the ports you plug your monitors into. Sometimes that makes a difference.
