Hey everyone, I recently built a new desktop PC that works great except for one frustrating issue: my headset microphone isn't being recognized. I've tried multiple solutions like using splitters, USB adapters, and even reinstalling the audio drivers. I even bought a new headset and tried USB C adapters, but nothing seems to work. I'm out of ideas here! What else could I try to get my microphone detected?

First off, it’s key to know whether your PC is a desktop or a laptop, as that can affect the setup. It sounds like you've checked a lot already, but make sure to check if your desktop has a built-in microphone from the monitor or something similar. Sometimes the system defaults to those inputs. You can also check your sound settings to see if your headset is listed as an audio device, but just not set as default. If it is listed, try setting it as the default input device manually. Let me know how that goes!

Oops, I didn’t think about that! I’ll check the default settings and see if there’s something I missed.
