For a while now, my speakers have been acting strangely. Mostly at night, they suddenly start playing Turkish music and weird conversations. It feels like I'm picking up radio signals, but I can't find any radio station that matches what I'm hearing. The songs seem to have a low number of plays on YouTube, and the conversations are a mix of Turkish and English, always quiet until I adjust the volume. It's odd because I'm based in Poland and these old Logitech X-230 speakers don't even have a radio function. I've scanned my PC for viruses multiple times, and it's always clean. The weirdness started about 6 months ago. What could be going on?

The likely issue is that your speakers are not shielded well, making them act like antennas and picking up radio frequencies. That’s how you might be hearing distant broadcasts!
I’ve experienced something similar! Sometimes, when I use my Lenovo tablet near a window, I can catch low conversations through the headphones. I think the wires might act as antennas. Maybe your speakers are doing something similar?
My setup is similar; my PC is near a window too. I read that these older speakers shouldn't be picking up signals like this, especially after using them for a while.
Have you tried disconnecting the speakers? They should stop playing if they're unplugged from power, too. By the way, can you share some recordings of what you're hearing?
When I unplug them from the wall, they stop. But if I keep the jack near the input and reconnect it, it starts playing again. I'm not sure how to share recordings, though.
It sounds like your speakers might be picking up AM radio signals. This can happen more often at night when radio waves travel farther. It’s quite possible in your area, even if the music doesn't seem to be from a local station.
Is it really possible that Turkish music is coming through on my speakers in Poland? That seems strange.
Well, there's a chance that BBC broadcasts could be heard in Poland, but honestly? If it's bugging you, maybe just burn those speakers and get a new pair! They're at least 10 years old, anyway.
Haha, honestly considering it! But when I checked out that supposed radio station, it didn’t match up with what I was hearing.

Do you know how I could fix this? It’s pretty annoying!
