My Samsung Galaxy Tab 8's power button is stuck, and I had been using the double-tap feature to wake it up. Unfortunately, I forgot to charge it and now it's completely dead. What are my options for safely turning it back on without the power button?

To get your tablet working again, the first step is to charge it. Connect it to a charger and leave it for about 30 to 60 minutes. If nothing happens, you could try a different charging cable or adapter. Once it has some charge, press and hold the Volume Down + Volume Up buttons while it's plugged in for 10–15 seconds to see if it powers on. Occasionally, it's Volume Down + Home instead, depending on your model. If it still doesn’t respond, the stuck power button might keep it in a continuous pressed state, meaning you'll need to have it repaired to fix the button issue.
You should definitely try to unstick the power button. It could just be stuck and not necessarily broken.
I'm curious, does your tablet turn on automatically once it gets a charge, similar to an iPad? If not, it could be a bigger problem that requires a fix.
Why not just plug it in? Once the battery charges a bit, it might automatically turn on like some devices do. Give that a shot!
Have you tried gently using a small screwdriver to unstick the power button? It might just be jammed, and careful pressure could resolve the issue.
