Hey everyone! I'm currently on the hunt for a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer position, and I could really use your feedback on my resume. I've spent about three years in software engineering, focusing a lot on CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. Recently, I completed my Master's and took a technical support job to make ends meet, but I'm eager to return to infrastructure and automation work. I've attached an anonymized version of my resume, aimed at positions in the EU. What do you think I can improve? Should I emphasize my projects more, or do my experience descriptions convey enough? I'm open to any critiques—I really want to sharpen it up since I've faced pretty tough odds: about 100 applications for only 1-2 interviews. Thanks so much for your help!

Hey! That application ratio sounds rough, but it’s not uncommon for EU roles. One tip that worked for me was creating a separate "projects" section where I described actual infrastructure I managed, not just what I contributed at work. For example, I set up a homelab with a complete monitoring stack and shared troubleshooting experiences that highlighted creative solutions. It really impressed hiring managers! Also, your experience descriptions are good, but try to make them more specific. Instead of saying 'implemented CI/CD', explain what impact that had—like reduced deploy times or cost savings. Lastly, even technical support roles can feel overlooked by recruiters. It might help to underscore any automation or infrastructure work from that job, even if it was under the support umbrella. Best of luck, your background looks promising!
I feel you on those application stats! Just remember, a lot of those listings might be ghost jobs. Many companies are swamped with automated applications, and they even have cheeky ways to filter resumes—like including random words in job descriptions. About your resume layout, I think it’s smart! I’d suggest moving skills lower in the order and putting certifications upfront, since they can grab attention quickly.

Thanks a ton for the advice! I'll definitely consider adding a projects section to showcase my own work. It's encouraging to know the ratio isn't just me struggling. I'll also ensure to highlight the impact of my previous roles better!
