My son signed into Minecraft on my Windows 11 computer while I was using a local account named User. It now appears that his Microsoft account is connected to parts of my Windows profile, possibly because he chose to use that account across Windows. I want to sign him out and restore the computer to its previous local-account state. There is no visible option to switch back to a local account. What is the correct way to disconnect his account without losing my files or settings?

Signing into Minecraft or Xbox usually does not convert a local Windows account into a Microsoft account. First check Settings > Accounts > Your info. If it still identifies the profile as local, the account itself was not changed. Then check Settings > Accounts > Family & other users to see whether a separate Windows account was created for your son. If so, switch back to the original User account from the Start menu or lock screen.
If his Microsoft account was only added for apps, open Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts. Look under “Accounts used by other apps,” select his account, and choose Remove. That should disconnect the Minecraft or Xbox login from your local Windows profile without deleting your files or recreating the account.
His account does not appear under Your info or the other account lists, and there are no additional Windows users showing. I may need to check the app-specific account section more carefully.
