I'm looking for recommendations on music production software that works well on Linux. I want something fun and user-friendly, preferably free and open source (FOSS). I know emulating software is an option, but I'm hoping to find a native solution. Any suggestions?

Ardour is a fantastic choice! It's a solid FOSS option for both recording and producing music. You can find it easily in your repositories. Other alternatives like Bitwig and Reaper are good too, but they're not open source. Bitwig is more professional while Reaper keeps things simple, but I haven't tried either. If you're into tracker-style DAWs, check out Renoise—it has an incredible FX chaining interface!
Reaper is pretty versatile and can do everything you’d expect from a DAW. It's not the prettiest, but it's free to use (with an option to purchase it for around $65). I used it on Windows before switching to Linux, and it's been reliable!
Don't forget about LMMS! It's very popular among Linux users. While it might not be as polished as FL Studio or GarageBand, it's definitely growing. Just be wary of the stable version—it's outdated and can really limit you. You might have better luck with the Alpha or Nightly builds!

Yeah, LMMS is great for starting out, but just bear in mind it needs some work to catch up with others like FL Studio. It's still a solid choice!
