Hey everyone! I'm finally breaking free from prebuilt systems and diving into building my own PC after a long wait. My goal is to achieve the best performance-to-price ratio with compatible parts. Here's the current plan I'm working with:
- **CPU**: 9800X3D (already purchased)
- **CPU Cooler**: Considering Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO or Peerless Assassin, but I'm open to ideas!
- **Motherboard**: Leaning towards X870 or X870E for the necessary bandwidth, potentially the ASUS TUF GAMING X870-PLUS WIFI or something similar.
- **GPU**: Just got the GIGABYTE WINDFORCE GeForce RTX 5090.
- **Storage**: Planning for a WD_BLACK 1TB SN8100 (or another Gen 5 SSD). Will this work fine with a Gen 4 SSD?
- **RAM**: Got G.Skill Tident Z5 32GB DDR5-7600.
- **PSU**: MSI MPG A1000GS PCIE5.
- **Case**: Looking for a case that gives me good value for money.
- **Cooling**: Plus fans and other necessary components.
I'd love any feedback or recommendations you might have, thanks!

You don’t really need Gen 5 bandwidth for the 5090; even a Gen 4 setup with 8 lanes should work just fine. For your storage, you could probably get by with even a SATA SSD for gaming and casual use. If you opt for a Gen 4 NVMe, it should be more than sufficient! Just check for good deals, as Gen 3 and 4 are often similarly priced. Also, regarding your RAM, you might need to adjust settings manually to hit that DDR5-7600 speed, but it should still perform well for your needs.
That's good to know! I'm definitely planning for 4K gaming and some video editing, so any boost I can get will help.
