Can downloading from Ocean of PDF give my iPhone a virus?

Hey everyone! I usually download eBooks in EPUB format from Ocean of PDF directly onto my iPhone 11. My computer is pretty old and broken, so the phone is my only option for downloading. I've been wondering if it's actually possible to get a virus on my phone from this site? I'm a bit paranoid about viruses, and I wanted to check if any other iPhone users have experienced any suspicious behavior or received strange emails after downloading from Ocean of PDF. By the way, I cleared my Safari history after downloading to be safe.

You likely won't have a virus, but just clearing your history doesn't make a difference in terms of infection. If you're worried about others seeing your browsing history, then it's useful, but otherwise, it doesn’t affect safety.

Thanks for explaining! I cleared it to get rid of any caches or cookies, but I appreciate your insight.

As long as you just download and read the files through Books or Acrobat, there's minimal risk involved. Many PDF files can try phishing tactics, but iOS is structured in a way that limits what malware can do unless you enable something risky.

It's pretty rare to get a virus on an iPhone. Usually, you'd have to download malicious apps or visit sketchy websites to get infected.

You're generally safe, especially if you don't have any configuration profiles installed. iPhones are tough to hack into, especially via a PDF file.

Appreciate the reassurance! Just to clarify, I’m downloading EPUBs, not PDFs.
