I plugged my headphones into a device that I suspect might be infected with malware, and now I'm worried about whether my headphones could be compromised as well. Some people I've talked to mentioned that the mouse might be infected, which seems more likely to me, but I don't want to just throw away my $40 headphones without knowing for sure. Am I being paranoid, or is there a real risk that my headphones could have malware?

I really doubt headphones can get infected with malware since they usually don't have any built-in memory or processing power. Most models are just straightforward audio devices without the ability to run any harmful code. So, you probably don't need to worry about destroying your headphones.
How can I check if they have memory?
