Hi everyone! I've run into a bit of a situation. A former employee set up an Apple ID using his company cell phone number, and now that we've reassigned that number to a new employee, we're facing a problem. The new employee is unable to create a new Apple ID because the number is already associated with the old account. Is there a way to get around this so he can download apps on his iPhone? Thanks in advance!

You can actually use a single trusted number with multiple Apple Accounts! However, it might be tricky depending on how you're trying to create the new ID. If you're doing it on the iPhone, you might run into some issues. Maybe try creating the new Apple ID on a PC instead. Would that work for you? Just make sure you're using a different email address too if you had issues before.
Yeah, I ran into a similar issue! What worked for me was using a PC to create my Apple ID instead of the iPhone. If you've faced that 'account can't be created' error, just know, your email might be tied up with the previous account. Switching to a new email and using iCloud.com to set it up can often save the day!
If you have access to a different phone number, that might be the easiest fix. But since you mentioned it’s a company account, asking your provider for a new number could be an option. Just be aware that if you encounter errors while creating the new account, it might be because the email you are using is tied to the old account, so you'll need a new one.
