I lost my iPhone and thought it was just misplaced, so I got a new SIM and started using another phone. Unfortunately, I've since discovered that my phone was actually stolen. The thieves are now taunting me with personal content from my phone and hinting at revealing private photos. I didn't have iCloud or Apple ID set up on the device. I managed to register the IMEI with my carrier, Fido, but they were not helpful when I reached out for assistance. Can my carrier block the phone or wipe its data remotely? I'm based in Canada, and I'm considering contacting the place where I originally got my plan as well. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, if you didn't set up any security features and you can't get help from your carrier, there's not much you can do to wipe the data. At this point, your best bet is to keep a low profile and monitor for any issues.
Have you thought about going to the police? Just be honest about the situation. They might be able to help you without making it complicated. I understand your concerns, but it’s better to be safe and let them know about the theft.
I get that, but it's still worth reporting. They might connect this to other cases and at least put it on record.
You should definitely reach out to Apple Support. They might have some options for you, even if you didn’t set up iCloud. They can guide you on how to handle the situation, and it won't cost you anything. It's worth a shot!
I was worried they wouldn't take me seriously because of my past and the lack of proof. I might be stuck if they think I'm making it all up.
