I'm working in a small office where the owner is dealing with a really messy divorce. The ex-husband is supposedly some tech whiz and has done some pretty alarming things—like cutting the power to the building to disable security cameras and even messing with the internet lines so badly that repair guys were confused. Now, a few of us believe someone is intercepting our personal phone calls. For instance, I've had several friends call my cell, only to have a man answer and tell them, "Don't call this number anymore." Two other coworkers have experienced the same thing. Is there a chance it's this guy? If yes, how can we protect ourselves?

Honestly, this sounds a bit far-fetched. Are you sure this isn't just a misunderstanding? What have the police said?
It's crucial to protect yourself and stay off the phone if you think this might be happening. Try turning it off when you're at work and definitely think about finding a new job. The situation sounds unstable with everything going on.
Absolutely! Given the damage he’s done already, it wouldn't be surprising if the company doesn't last long at this rate.
What did the police say when you told them about this? They should have some input on what's going on and whether they can help you. That sounds like a serious situation!
The police mentioned they can't do anything right now since the cameras were down when he broke in. They only took a report. We did get a restraining order against him, and a private investigator has been hired. Some neighbors noticed his truck parked near our office the night the cameras got cut, but unfortunately, that’s not enough for law enforcement.
If you're using a personal phone, it's theoretically possible but highly unlikely for someone to intercept calls like that. It's more plausible if it was a company phone, where calls can be forwarded. Just be extra cautious!

I was skeptical too, but with all that's happened, I'm starting to wonder. The police are just taking a report since there's no concrete evidence to link him to any of this.
