I'm currently using a Corsair 4000D case along with a Corsair RM850 FM 80+ Gold PSU. My setup includes a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a 2080 Ti, both of which fit perfectly in the case. I'm thinking it's time to retire the 2080 Ti and upgrade to either a 5080 or possibly even a 5090 if I'm feeling adventurous. My question is, will I need to buy a new PSU or a new case for this upgrade? Thanks in advance!

Just a heads up, your case supports GPUs up to 360mm, which includes both the 5080 and 5090. While the 5080 is fine with an 850W PSU, getting a new PSU for the 5090 is definitely a smart move. Always better to have a little extra power just in case!
Your current PSU should handle the 5080 without any issues. But if you go for the 5090, you’ll definitely need a more powerful PSU. I'd recommend a minimum of 1000W, though ideally, you should aim for something around 1200W to be safe.
You won’t need to worry about your case; it can accommodate either GPU just fine. Your PSU, however, is good for a 5080 at 850W, but for the 5090, it’s best to invest in a new PSU since you'll likely need more power.
