Do I Really Need to Reinstall Windows?

I've been having some serious issues with my PC lately. After about 30 minutes of light use, I started up a game, but the performance was way off. My mouse and keyboard LEDs started flickering, my internet kicked out, and then things just spiraled from there. When I force-closed the game, my mouse movement became super sluggish. I ended up restarting, which took forever, and it launched an automatic disk repair. But now, all I get is a black screen after the motherboard logo. I can access the BIOS, but nothing else works. I've plugged my monitors into different ports on the graphics card and even into the motherboard directly, but that didn't help. I tried Startup Repair, but it failed and just gave me a log file. I also attempted a System Restore—it didn't do anything either. Do I really need to reinstall Windows? I'd prefer to keep my files if possible, but I'm okay with wiping everything if that's the only option.

Sounds super frustrating! Have you tried clearing out your temp files? Press Win + R, type %temp%, and delete everything in there. Also, running a virus scan and using Disk Cleanup might help. But if all else fails, don't lose hope and good luck troubleshooting!

I really didn’t think about a virus since I usually scan everything I download. I’ll definitely check that after work!
