Help! My Laptop Microphone Sounds Distorted After Switching to Cachy OS

I recently switched from Windows 11 to Cachy OS on my laptop and now I'm having major issues with my microphone. When I use it on Discord, everything sounds distorted or incomplete, and my voice keeps getting cut off. I've already messed around with the Discord settings, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. It worked perfectly on Windows, and I really relied on it for voice chats. I'm wondering if this could be a driver issue, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Discord definitely has some problems with noise cancellation on its Linux client. I’ve found that turning off noise cancellation helps me avoid being cut off mid-sentence. You might want to give that another shot.

I tried toggling it on and off, but it just made things worse. Even applied my old Windows settings directly, but no luck there.

Sounds like a rite of passage as a Linux user! Don’t worry, you’ll find a fix eventually. Hang in there!

To diagnose the issue, you can run a quick test using this command: `arecord -f cd -d 10 test.wav` followed by `aplay test.wav`. This will help you figure out if the recording is clear or if the problem lies elsewhere.
