Help! My Windows 11 isn’t recognizing my microphone

I've been having a frustrating issue with my microphone setup. My microphone is a Neewer NW-700 with a 3.5 mm jack, but for some reason, Windows 11 isn't detecting it at all. I've tried various tutorials without success. When I check my audio settings, there's no sign of the mic; it has worked fine in the past, but it seems to have disappeared now. The phantom power box seems to be operating correctly, so I'm wondering whether the problem lies with the microphone cable or the laptop's audio port. Has anyone dealt with this before or have any suggestions to troubleshoot?

Have you tested with a different mic or device? It could be a faulty cable or port issue. Try using a different audio input to see if that makes any difference!

If your microphone uses a 3.5mm jack, Windows might list it differently, possibly just showing the motherboard's audio input instead. You might want to check if you see an option like 'Internal AUX Jack' under your input devices, but I know that can be confusing if it still doesn’t register sound. It could just be how it’s displayed in the settings.

Sometimes, your setup just needs a good old-fashioned restart to work out the kinks! Might not seem like much, but it can really help with recognition issues.
