How can I completely uninstall the ThousandEyes End Point Agent from my Mac?

I recently had to install Cisco Secure Client on my MacBook for work, which was needed just for one time to access a specific website. After using the uninstall option for most of the software, I noticed that the ThousandEyes End Point Agent is still on my computer. There's no uninstall button available for it. When I try to open the app, it prompts me for a 'connection string' that I don't have. I found a Unix Executable File named 'ThousandEyes Uninstall' within Cisco Secure Client's Application Support folder, but when I click it, Terminal appears with a message saying 'Permission Denied.' I'm really confused and frustrated because I can't uninstall this software that I don't even need. How can I get rid of it?

It’s often the case that apps like ThousandEyes aren't designed for users to uninstall on their own. It's likely they must be removed by someone in IT who has access to the management console. Since it's asking for configuration info, it may not be connected to that console, which complicates the uninstallation. If you’re using a Mac, you typically would just drag the app to the trash. However, since you found a Unix executable, make sure it's indeed for uninstallation. If it’s giving you ‘Permission Denied,’ it may require admin privileges or permissions set by your company’s IT. Some users have mentioned that installing a dedicated uninstaller tool could help, but proceed with caution and maybe create a backup first!

Since it’s your personal Mac, if you’re still having issues and you’ve backed up your important files externally, you could consider reformatting your Mac. It’s a more extreme solution, but it will definitely remove any unwanted software completely.

Just a quick tip: when you try to drag the app to the trash and it goes through, you might still have leftover files scattered around your Mac. If you're looking for a thorough uninstall, consider using a cleaner tool to ensure all those extra files are gone, or search for any residuals manually under Library files. That way, you’ll have a cleaner system afterwards.
