I just graduated and I've been told that having a web portfolio is essential for showcasing my work. I'm wondering if there are any free or low-cost options to create and host a public website, since I've heard that there might be fees involved.

Definitely check out Vercel! It's super user-friendly and doesn't require a credit card to start. You can also try alternatives like Koyeb, Render, or fly.io, which are all free too.

GitHub Pages is a fantastic option! You can host a React TypeScript app there for free. I've got a few projects up myself on it. If you need to host more complex sites later, I recommend looking into Digital Ocean, but that comes with a monthly fee of about $7 NZD.
