How can I enable LE Audio on Windows 11 with my new headphones?

I'm running Windows 11 (24H2) on an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D with a B550 chipset. I've just bought a pair of Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones, which support Bluetooth LE audio. I also installed a new WiFi/Bluetooth combo card, the MSI HERALD-BE NCM-865, which uses the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 chipset that supports LE audio according to Qualcomm's site. However, I'm struggling to find the option to enable "Use LE audio when available" as instructed by Microsoft. I've reinstalled Windows and ensured all my drivers are up to date, but still no luck. Can anyone help me out?

It might be that your system is already using LE audio even without that checkbox being visible. The Bluetooth setup in Windows can be pretty tricky and doesn't always show clear options. The drivers handle how the audio modes are selected, and sometimes they're not transparent about what's going on under the hood. There are rumors that Microsoft plans to enhance this functionality, but updates are slow.

However, keep in mind that if you're using the mic, audio quality might drop to 16KHz mono, which indicates it's reverting to the older hands-free protocol instead of LE audio.
