How Can I Increase the Size of My Virtual Machine?

I'm still trying to get the hang of it all! Every time I manage to learn something, I seem to forget it by the next time I work on it. I'm using Pop-OS on a virtual machine managed by Oracle, and I've installed Zorin on that VM. Recently, I've been getting a message stating that I only have 812MB of file root size, which seems pretty limited. I can't remember exactly how I set up Oracle initially, and just adjusting the sliders in the settings doesn't seem to do the trick. Can anyone help me figure out how to increase the size?

I'm still trying to figure all that out. Thanks for the tips! The FAQ is kind of a rabbit hole, but I appreciate you both helping me sort through it.

If you're having trouble with your virtual machine's size, the first step is to check your Oracle VirtualBox settings. You can go to 'Settings' for your VM, then under 'Storage', you can adjust the allocated size of the virtual disk. Make sure that your host system has enough free space available too! Also, consider checking out the VirtualBox documentation if you want to dive deeper into it. Just a heads up, if your machine is older, you might want to look into KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine). It's another virtualization option that can work better for some users.

What exactly is KVM? I came across it too, but I found the FAQ pages a bit much to handle. It all feels overwhelming sometimes. By the way, if your machine is several years old like mine, it might be worth looking into lighter options than VirtualBox, just in case. Those settings pages can be confusing!
