How Can I Prepare for a Sales Role in Private Cloud Without IT Experience?

I recently lost my job and I'm on the hunt for a new opportunity. I had a few interviews with a private cloud company for a sales role and they seem to like my personality and mindset. The challenge is that I'm making a career shift and I have no IT experience, which makes them hesitant to proceed. They've given me some topics to research in preparation for our final interview next week. These topics include Virtualization (nCSSV, nHCI, nSSV, nSAN), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA).

I'm looking for recommendations on where I can learn the basics of these concepts. I'm not trying to become an expert; I just need a fundamental understanding to demonstrate my willingness to learn. Securing this job is important to me since they've promised to double my current salary plus commissions and bonuses at the end of the year.

YouTube is a great resource! There are tons of tutorials for all these topics. Just keep in mind, though, that not exploring it first might signal a lack of initiative. Still, best of luck with your preparation!

These topics are quite advanced, and if you don’t already have a solid foundation in computers and networking, you might find it challenging. I'd recommend checking out courses on basic Linux and networking to build that foundation. For Linux, try the Introduction to Linux course on the Linux Foundation website. For networking, the Networking Basics course from NetAcad could help too.

I get that they're advanced, but I’m pretty sure they only expect me to know the basics of each virtualization type and how they apply to clients. This is just a sales role, not a technical one!
