How can I transfer a large video from my iPhone to my MacBook?

I'm trying to transfer a 40 GB HDR video from my iPhone 14 to my MacBook so I can upload it to YouTube, but I'm hitting a wall. I've connected my phone to the laptop via USB, but the video isn't showing up for import. It's driving me nuts because it's too large for Google Drive uploads, and I can't compress it without using a third-party service. Any ideas to help me get this video off my phone?

Have you thought about using iMovie to create a compressed version of your video? You could reduce the resolution a bit, which might help with the file size!

You can actually upload directly to YouTube straight from your iPhone. Just log into the YouTube app and try uploading it from there! It could save you some hassle with your Mac.

Both Photos and Image Capture can import videos taken with your iPhone. Have you considered using AirDrop to send it to your Mac? That might be a quick solution!

Just a suggestion: maybe it's time to upgrade to a more capable phone? It could make transfers like this a lot easier!

If you're using the same iCloud account on both devices, your video might already be accessible on your Mac. Just check your iCloud settings!

Just a heads up, make sure you have a paid iCloud account; the free version only gives you 5GB!
