I'm having a bit of trouble with my Samsung Smart TV when it comes to playing movies from an external hard drive that's formatted in NTFS. The TV officially supports NTFS, and the drive contains several movies. However, whenever I try to play any of these movies, I get an error message saying: *"The selected file is not currently supported."* I have a Samsung TV, model UE75TU8072UXXH. Just to add, the smallest movie file on the drive is 22GB, but I also tried a smaller movie (1.5GB) which played without issues. Any ideas on what's going wrong?

Some Samsung TVs have specific issues with playing certain file types, even if they're in the supported NTFS format. It's possible that the movies in MKV format might be the culprit here, as my Samsung struggled with those too. I usually have better luck with MP4 and AVI files. If you can't get the MKV files to play, you might want to try converting them or using another device like an Xbox.
That sounds frustrating! I read that sometimes the audio codec in MKV files, like DTS, can cause issues on Samsung TVs. If that's the case, converting the file to a supported audio format might help.
