How do I fix taskbar glitches in Windows 11?

I've encountered a strange issue with my taskbar in Windows 11. I think I accidentally pressed a key combination that changed its appearance. Normally, there's a blue dot under the applications that are open in the background. Now, it only shows up when I manually resize the taskbar to be larger. I tried dragging it to different sizes, but it only allows two specific heights and doesn't adjust dynamically. I've checked all the settings, restarted Windows Explorer and my PC multiple times, but nothing seems to work. I'm really looking for any help to fix this!

It sounds like you might have switched your taskbar to the 'small height' mode, which hides those blue underline indicators for open apps. In Windows 11, there are only two taskbar sizes available. To fix this, just try dragging your taskbar up until it snaps back to the full size. You can also head to Settings → Personalization → Taskbar and look for any options related to 'small taskbar buttons' and turn those off to reset it.

I'm on Windows 10 and I have a similar issue. There aren’t many settings that deal with the taskbar height, other than the 'use small taskbar buttons' option. I tried all the settings but nothing worked. The taskbar's only slightly reduced, just a few pixels, but it's not letting me drag it back into place easily. Any other tips?
