Hey everyone,
I've been experiencing some black screen issues with my setup and discovered that the PCIe power cable from my power supply to my GPU had melted. To fix the issue, I swapped out the faulty cable with a spare PCIe cable I had lying around, and now the system seems to be functioning just fine.
I bought my power supply used, and I'm running a 9070 XT GPU. Given this melted cable incident, should I assume that my power supply is on its last legs and replace it, or is it safe to continue using it after the cable swap?
The power supply model I have is the Cooler Master MWE V2 850W Gold.
Thanks for your help!

It sounds like you've had quite a scare! It's definitely important to monitor your power supply closely after something like that. Since your PSU is a used Cooler Master model, I would recommend being cautious. It’s possible that the PSU has developed a fault, and keeping a PSU that has caused issues can be risky, especially with an expensive GPU like your 9070 XT. If you can, invest in a tier A PSU for peace of mind and stability.
Have you considered checking out reviews for any potential replacements? It might help you find a reliable option!

Totally agree! It's better to be safe than sorry with something as crucial as a power supply.
