I logged into my iPad easily yesterday, but I completely blanked today and forgot my passcode. I tried entering it too many times and got locked out for three hours. That waiting period is now over, but I really don't want to risk waiting an entire day. I know it sounds wild, but is there any method to reset my passcode without losing all my data? I haven't backed up my iPad in a long time and I'm worried about losing important documents and sentimental photos. By the way, it's an iPad Pro 2022.

Guess you're learning the importance of backing up the hard way, huh? It’s super frustrating, but at least you’ll be better prepared next time!
Unfortunately, there's no way around it. You either need to remember the passcode or erase the iPad. If it helps at all, if you're locked out, you aren't losing anything new since you can't access what's on the device anyway right now. It's a tough lesson, but setting up automatic backups is key for the future.
Just an idea, but did you know that if you change the passcode within a certain time frame, it can complicate things? Check the Apple support site for more info if you're still struggling. But congrats on getting into your iPad!
Did you recently change your passcode? That might be important. Otherwise, it looks like erasing the device is the only option if the passcode can't be recalled. But we all learn the hard way, right?
I didn’t realize that was a factor! Thankfully, I managed to unlock my iPad and the first thing I did was sign up for an iCloud backup! So relieved!

Thanks for the tip! I didn’t change it recently, but I managed to unlock it now, so I'm pretty happy!
