I'm searching for modern music players that allow me to view and browse files directly from folders, similar to how Rhythmbox works. I've been using Rhythmbox and appreciate its functionality, even though the interface feels outdated. I've also tried Gapless, which I enjoy, but it doesn't have a file browser; it only scans everything. I've checked out Dopamine, which seems perfect for my needs, but for some reason, it shows up as a game on Discord and doesn't work correctly. Any recommendations for a music player that fits my criteria?

Clementine is another option. It's a bit older, but it has a customizable interface and a searchable library with multiple skins you can choose from.
You might want to check out Tauon. I tried several options and settled on it because it looks modern and has a lot of features, plus it's easy to import .m3u playlists.
I second that! Tauon really stands out for its usability. It has a clean design and the features are impressive.
Strawberry is a fork of Clementine, but whether it works for you can depend on your specific needs. Tauon is interesting, but you might want to look at some recent articles to compare features.

Just a heads up though, Clementine hasn't received updates since 2016, so it might have some bugs you need to watch out for.
