Hey everyone! My husband and I both work from home in the same room, and since we're in IT, we have a lot of meetings to attend. At my previous job, I used Krisp, which was fantastic for canceling out external noise and background voices during calls. However, my new job provided me with a machine that has no admin rights, and they're pretty strict about software usage—it can't even run Krisp since it's not on their approved list.
I use Google Meet and have tried its built-in noise reduction, but it doesn't effectively minimize surrounding voices, which means my husband's voice often leaks into my calls. I have a Redragon H510-PRO Sakura Edition Headset, but unfortunately, it doesn't have any management software to help with sound settings.
I attempted to use OBS and VB Audio Cable, but VB needs admin access to install. Most browser solutions are AI-based and get blocked too. I've tried lowering my microphone volume to reduce distant sounds, but Google Meet keeps overriding that setting.
Does anyone have suggestions for software or hardware that could help? I'm even considering a desk microphone with great noise cancellation if necessary, but I'd like to hear ideas before investing in anything new!

Honestly, your headset might be the issue here. Redragon isn't known for high-quality audio solutions. I'd recommend investing in a better headset that's designed for office use, as they usually come with advanced noise cancellation features. A lot of the good ones have dual mics—one for your voice and another to filter out background noise. Just from experience, a Sennheiser headset worked wonders for me even in noisy environments. If your company isn’t providing a headset, that might be worth discussing with them.
I appreciate the feedback! I chose this headset for comfort and sound quality, but maybe it wasn't the best option for noise cancellation. I’m still exploring solutions, but I’ll keep this in mind.
