Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I'm currently searching for an open-source solution to help manage tasks for a small accounting firm I'm working with. The firm needs a better way to handle their tasks since most of them are recurring. We currently rely on Trello for task management, but the accounting tasks differ a lot - they're mostly repetitive with only a few unique ones occasionally. While a calendar might seem like the obvious choice, I'm looking for something with a more appealing UI/UX and that can be self-hosted and possibly customized in the future. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You might want to check out Odoo! It's open-source and offers both accounting and task scheduling features. Just keep in mind that while Odoo has a lot to offer, the accounting module is part of their 'Enterprise' package, which isn't truly open-source. You do get one free enterprise module with each install, though! Just something to keep in mind as you explore options.
I feel your pain! I looked around for something similar and came across quite a few open-source task and to-do list apps, but nothing really hit the mark for scheduling recurring tasks. Most apps I found either had very basic functionality or were overly complicated. I tried out one called 'Super Productivity,' but it didn’t allow for scheduling recurring tasks like 'every 20th of the month.' If you want a simpler solution, you might have better luck adapting a calendar for your needs rather than forcing a to-do app to fit. Building something from scratch could be a challenge too, given all the quirks with date management.
Thanks for the tip on Odoo! I’ll definitely look into its capabilities further.
