I'm on the hunt for an open source library that can create an infinite slideshow carousel feature. Ideally, I want to customize transitions and wrappers for images, with support for peeking at the first and last images and autoplay capabilities. I've done some research but didn't find anything promising, so I'd love to hear about any good experiences others have had. I'm working with NextJS, so a React-based library would be perfect. Thanks!

If you want something solid and easy to use, I recommend Splide. I've been using it for a couple of years, and it's flexible and stable. Plus, it has React, Vue, and Svelte integrations available [here](https://splidejs.com/integration/react-splide/).
I've used a bunch of libraries over the years, but Swiper has been my go-to for the last few. I haven't specifically used it with React, but it offers all the features you mentioned. You can check it out [here](https://swiperjs.com/react).
Thanks! Swiperjs looks great, I'll definitely give it a shot!
For Next.js, I’d say Swiper and Embla Carousel are both excellent choices. They handle infinite loops, autoplay, peek effects, and custom transitions like champs. If you're after something simpler and lightweight, React Responsive Carousel and React Multi Carousel can be solid alternatives.
I used to prefer Swiper, but I switched to Embla because it's lighter and has everything I needed. Swiper was getting a bit heavy with all the React component transitions, which was frustrating. Plus, if you use Shadcn components, Embla is the way to go for carousels!

Swiper is pretty awesome!
