I recently relocated from Washington to Texas and signed up with a new internet provider that offers 1 Gbps with unlimited data. While speed tests show decent results with around 200 MBps downloads, I find myself facing frustrating packet loss and connection issues when gaming. What can I do to fix this?

You're paying for 1 Gbps, but if your speed tests are only 200 Mbps, that doesn't add up. Are you sure you're checking in megabytes and not megabits? Just so you know, my phone can download faster on 5G than that. It might be worth investigating your speeds further to see if you're getting what you pay for.
Try logging into your modem or ONT to check for any signal issues. You can also review the logs for more insight. They might shed light on the connection problems you're experiencing.
Honestly, I get frustrated when people suggest AI solutions when someone just needs human help. But I guess checking your modem is a good start!
Have you tried hardwiring your connection? If you haven’t already, using an Ethernet cable can really improve stability. Also, consider getting a better Wi-Fi solution like the Eero Max7. Just a heads up, if your PC has an older Wi-Fi card, upgrading to a Wi-Fi 6E card might help too.
Yeah, that sounds about right. You might also be dealing with more interference now, so hardwiring might be the best bet.

That’s true, but just to clarify, I'm seeing 200 megabytes, not megabits, which helps explain the slower download speed.
