I'm somewhat familiar with computers, but I'm still new to Linux. I'm considering whether I should jump in and install Ubuntu Server 24.04 now or hold off for the upcoming 25.04 version. My primary concern is stability since I plan to use this for serious work. Should I go ahead with the current LTS and then upgrade later, or is it better to wait for the new LTS? I'm also open to any other tips or recommendations you might have. Thanks in advance!

I personally use the LTS versions because they provide a solid foundation – you can set it up and forget about it for a long time. If you need newer software, there are various ways like snaps and PPAs to get what you need without upgrading too often.
Yeah, definitely go for 24.04 LTS. It’ll be supported until 2029, so you can run it safely for quite a while. My VPS is still on 22.04 and it's working just fine!
You don’t have to wait for 25.04! Install 24.04 now and enjoy its stability. Upgrading isn’t like how it is with some other systems; you can manage on your own schedule.
For a server, I'd recommend just installing 24.04 LTS now and sticking with it until the next LTS (which will be 26.04). The interim releases are generally not the best choice if stability is your top priority.
Unless there’s a critical piece of server software only available in 25.04, I’d stick with 24.04 LTS. You'll generally want a stable base for servers, and non-LTS versions can be more of a hassle.

Same here! Stability matters a lot for servers, so LTS is the way to go.
