I'm considering making the switch from Windows 11 to Linux, but I have zero experience with Linux and its features. I'm looking for a user-friendly version that would let me play games as well as study. Should I make the jump to Linux, or is sticking with Windows 11 a better idea?

I’d recommend trying out Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop. It's very beginner-friendly and has a layout similar to Windows, which makes the transition easier.
You're likely going to find plenty of distro recommendations. A good strategy is to use virtual machines to test a few options without installing them on your main system.
You might want to check out both Linux Mint and Ubuntu. Mint is pretty Windows-like, and for gaming, you can look at the compatibility of your favorite games on ProtonDB to see if they'll work well on Linux.
Just a heads up, not all games are compatible with Linux, so it’s worth checking the software you use regularly to see if alternatives exist. Consider if you're okay with potentially switching to new programs.
